ONE HALF INCH IS THE THRESHOLD.
The pattern has 20 star blocks. If gives directions to make the flying geese the four-at-a-time way, sometimes referred to as ‘no waste.’ The more I use this method the more I like it. Give it a try with some scraps if you are new to this. I have found that the trick is don’t try to understand it. Just do what it says, step by step.
Taking the time to trim your flying geese now will make the next steps easier, faster and more accurate. Use a rotating mat or a small mat that’s easy to turn on your workspace.
This border allows some wiggle room as the pieced blocks don’t go all the way to the end.
Stay with the program: measure each side, cut your bor-der 1/2” bigger. Start from the middle and pin before your sew. Don’t stretch! You will have some seams to match as you add the star borders. This shouldn’t be a problem.
Two more borders to go and we are done. Straight and flat.
Ready to send to Debbie to do her magic and make it shine!
Sew sincerely,
Mary
